Program Overview

The IPR 2016 scientific program took place Sunday, May 15 through Friday, May 20, 2016, in Chicago. It combined a categorical course, didactic lectures, scientific sessions, workshops, and half-day specialty sessions, alongside an Art Show & Auction and additional program features for attendees.

The Program-at-a-Glance document reflecting the finalized schedule was last updated as of May 4, 2016.

The IPR 2016 scientific program was designed to offer a comprehensive educational experience for all attendees. Over the course of the congress, participants engaged in a diverse array of sessions spanning the full breadth of pediatric radiology. Mornings began with sunrise workshops and keynote lectures delivered by internationally renowned speakers, while afternoons featured dedicated scientific sessions and poster presentations. The program also included a categorical course and half-day specialty sessions that allowed for deep dives into specific subspecialty topics. This carefully curated schedule ensured that both seasoned practitioners and those new to the field found valuable content tailored to their professional development needs.

Beyond the main scientific track, the congress offered targeted programming for radiographers and technologists, recognizing the vital role these professionals play in pediatric imaging. A separate stream of content was developed specifically for this audience, featuring practical workshops and case-based discussions. The collaborative spirit of the meeting was further enhanced by social and networking events woven throughout the week. These gatherings provided a unique opportunity for attendees from around the world to renew old friendships and establish new professional liaisons in the historic and architectural setting of downtown Chicago.

The host city itself contributed significantly to the congress experience, with the Fairmont hotel serving as a perfect venue situated within walking distance of world-class museums, theaters, and the shores of Lake Michigan. The program's schedule was intentionally structured to allow participants time to explore these surroundings while still benefiting from a rigorous academic agenda. From the opening session on Sunday to the closing activities on Friday, the IPR 2016 congress successfully balanced cutting-edge science with meaningful social exchange, carrying forward the tradition of international collaboration that has defined this meeting since its origins in Toronto.
